Confirmation Class 2009-2010
Affirming Faith...The Journey Begins

Affirming Faith...The Journey Begins
Our Confirmation program began with a Commissioning of Confirmands during the morning worship service on Sunday, September 27. We have twenty-one youth who have already registered for this year’s program.

The confirmation class will meet for class on Sunday mornings from 8:45 to 9:45 AM and then attend the 10:00 AM worship service.

In addition to Sunday morning classes, the confirmation program will include field trips, community and church service projects, and a number of seasonal special events. One of the special events that has been added to our schedule this year is a “Confirmation History Tour” to Plymouth, Massachusetts on October 17-18, 2009. We will visit the Mayflower II and Plimoth Plantation and spend an overnight in more agreeable accommodations that our Pilgrim ancestors (we have reservations at the Best Western). The members of this year’s class will also have the opportunity to identify and work together on a special mission project.

Rev. Margaret Jay will be leading the class with the assistance of Cliff Castellano and Sherry
Perkowski. The Confirmation class is open to all interested youth in grades nine and above and there is still an opportunity to register for this year’s class. For more information or to register, please contact Rev. Margaret Jay (265-1691)

Confirmation Class to Visit Temple Beth Israel
Saturday - November 14

The Confirmation Class has been invited to attend a Bat Mitzvah Service at Temple Beth Israel in West Hartford. This is a very special life event in the Jewish faith and we are privileged to share in the experience. Rev. Margaret Jay, Confirmation teaching assistants, and members of the Board of Deacons will accompany our Confirmands on this trip.

Take a look at the 2009--2010 schedule for the kind of things we do.
