Dedicated in 1998, our new library is a wonderful space located right in the middle of the
church complex. New books are added regularly to both the children's and adult's collections.
Donations are always accepted. If you'd like to dedicate a book to someone special see Rev. Jay.
Come come visit the Library and check out a book or two. (We are
located across from the Music Room).
Library News
Our Church Library contains
many wonderful books for children, youth, and
adults. Did you know that we have several useful
resource books for parents? The Family Life Center often donates helpful books. Here is a quick review
of two:
• Whole Child/Whole Parent by Polly Berends “This wonderful books stands by itself as classic of
religious and psychological literature. It is not
merely for parents who wan to raise their children
in the best manner possible; it is for all people, including
adults who want to raise themselves.”
- M.Scott Peck (author of The Road Less Traveled)
• The Challenging Child by Stanley I Greenspan,
M.D. “Most children fall into five basic personality
types.” The Challenging Child reassures parents
that they do not simply have to ‘live with’ their
children’s temperament but can fit their parenting
style to their child.” This book is filled with invaluable
insight and hands-on advice. It brims with
suggestions for kids and their families.
Two new books about the spirituality of living have
arrived and are ready for you to take home:
• The Spirituality of Grand parenting by Ralph
Milton. “More than a celebration of grand-
children, this book is a celebration of grand-
parenting, and of the very real gifts it offers.” It
is for grandparents who are new to the role and
those who have earned their degree in grand
parenting through long experience.” Dr. Milton,
a gifted storyteller, offers the ups and downs of
this stage of life while sharing his faith.
• The Spirituality of Art by Lois Huey-Heck and
Jim Kalnin is a marvelous fusion of art and
narrative. “Readers can participate in the
authors’ response of the art of others, lovingly
described and available for viewing, right there,
on the page. With a sure touch, the authors tell
those artist’s stories, and their work takes on
new meaning. Lois Huey-Heck and Jim Kalnin
are natural-born teachers, artists in their own
right and exemplary spiritual guides.”
